Welcome to Term 3 at St Columba College
On Tuesday, we warmly welcomed families back to what promises to be a vibrant and exciting Term 3.
The coming weeks will see major College events that highlight the talents and dedication of our students and staff. In Week 6, we celebrate Intercol Week, followed by our much-anticipated annual Musical in Week 10—this year’s performance is The Wizard of Oz.
Our campus continues to evolve, with visible progress on the Clonard Building, due to open in Term 2 next year. Behind the scenes, planning is also well underway for the Primary Campus expansion, an exciting phase of growth for our community.
This term is also an exciting time as we welcome our new Foundation students as they begin their school journey following successful transition visits. Early data shows the positive impact of starting school earlier, with last year’s cohort demonstrating strong progress—benefits we know will continue throughout their schooling.
A key development this term is our transition to a Primary and Secondary structure, replacing the previous Junior, Middle and Senior School model. This change ensures a more contemporary and streamlined learning experience, particularly for students from Year 6 onwards. It also supports the next phase of our building works and aligns staff roles with our new structure.
Families will also notice new signage as we name our permanent building, The Gartan, Muna, Moville, and Clonard Buildings, each name rich with cultural or historical significance to our College identity.
We are pleased to welcome new staff and acknowledge current staff stepping into new leadership roles this term. These changes bring fresh energy and expertise that will continue to enrich our College community.
As always, we begin Term 3 by reinforcing our Behaviour Curriculum, which ensures a safe, calm and respectful learning environment. Parents and caregivers are asked to continue supporting these values at home.
Excitingly, we are also preparing to introduce our new College uniform. Selected students will trial the new design this term to help ensure it meets the needs of both students and families before it becomes available more broadly.
Finally, we’re delighted to launch our Old Collegians Association and relaunch the Parents and Friends Association. These groups will play a vital role in strengthening community ties.
We look forward to a productive and rewarding term ahead.
